What is Bridge?
Hailing from the 17th century, the card game bridge is likely to have been born in Russia and popularised in the Middle East, but is today widely considered to be the hardest card game of them all.
The game itself is for four players in teams of two using a standard 52 card deck. Every hand is made up of three stages: the auction, the play and the scoring. In the auction, players bid for a certain number of tricks and then attempt to claim them. Should a pair fall short of their contract a penalty is awarded.
